Salvador Ramos endorses Radhamés Silverio’s candidacy for the Rectorship of the UASD

Santo Domingo.– The renowned jurist, academic, and public servant Salvador Ramos expressed his support for the candidacy of Radhamés Silverio for the Rectorate of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), joining the figures who support the university proposal “The Best for the UASD”.

The announcement was made during a meeting held at the Hotel Mauad, in the National District, where Ramos expressed his confidence in the institutional transformation project promoted by Silverio, focused on strengthening academic excellence, transparency, innovation, and the social commitment of the state academy.

While thanking for the support, Silverio highlighted Ramos’ professional and academic trajectory, whom he defined as a reference in Dominican higher education and a defender of university values, institutionalism, and merit.

The aspiring rector recalled that Ramos has left an important mark on the UASD as a professor and dean of the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences, contributing to the training of generations of law professionals and to the strengthening of academic life.

Likewise, he highlighted his career in public administration, which includes his performance as a titular judge of the Central Electoral Board and, currently, as general director of the National Office of Industrial Property (ONAPI), from where he has promoted initiatives aimed at innovation and institutional modernization.

“This endorsement has a special meaning because it comes from a university member who knows the UASD deeply, who has dedicated years to its growth, and who has always defended the principles that should guide our academy,” expressed Silverio.

The candidate stated that Ramos’s support represents an incentive to continue promoting a vision of the university focused on academic quality, research, administrative efficiency, and greater engagement with the needs of Dominican society.

“I appreciate this show of confidence, which I value not only for the professional quality of Dr. Salvador Ramos, but also for his integrity, his vocation for service, and his commitment to the development of the Dominican Republic,” he added.

Silverio maintained that he receives this support with humility and with the commitment to work for a more modern, inclusive UASD, prepared to respond to the current and future challenges of higher education.

The activity was attended by Héctor Pereyra, campaign coordinator; Pantaleón Paniagua, candidate for the directorship of the School of Law; as well as members of the Triunfo movement: Lesly Altagracia Mejía Roque, aspirant to the Vice-Rectorate of Teaching; Alexi Martínez Olivo, candidate for the Administrative Vice-Rectorate; Bautista Radhamés López García, aspirant to the Vice-Rectorate of Extension; and José Ferreira Capellán, candidate for the Vice-Rectorate of Research and Postgraduate Studies, along with other academics and university leaders.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Silverio reaffirmed his determination to continue building a proposal that represents “The Best for the UASD,” in light of the challenges facing Dominican higher education.
