ANJE drives alliance with the MICM to strengthen the competitiveness of young-led MSMEs

Santo Domingo. – The National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE) continues to consolidate its role as an articulator of the young business ecosystem, after establishing a high-level working group with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Mipymes (MICM), focused on strengthening the competitiveness and sustainability of the MIPYMES led by young people in the Dominican Republic. The meeting, led by Minister Yayo Sanz Lovatón and ANJE President Boris De León Reyes, allowed for the outlining of a roadmap focused on generating real conditions for business scalability, access to impact financing, and the strengthening of legal security. As part of this agenda, ANJE proposed the reactivation of the ANJE-MICM Mentorship Program, a key initiative to connect emerging entrepreneurs with established business leaders. This program seeks to strengthen the capabilities of new companies in areas such as financial structuring, corporate governance, and market expansion, contributing to their sustainable growth.

From the association, the need to move towards a more competitive and formal entrepreneurial ecosystem was reiterated, highlighting that innovation and the attraction of capital towards MSMEs require clear enabling conditions, including better financing alternatives and a predictable and efficient justice system.

“At ANJE, we are committed to promoting public policies that encourage the formalization and growth of MSMEs led by young people. Initiatives such as the Young MSME Certification and the strengthening of the Simplified Taxation Regime (RST) are fundamental steps in that direction,” expressed De León Reyes.

Likewise, the organization valued the opening of the MICM to promote an environment where the State acts as a facilitator of entrepreneurship, reducing barriers and generating greater confidence for investment. The day concluded with the commitment of both institutions to continue this agenda through technical roundtables, aimed at modernizing financing and business promotion instruments, reaffirming the role of SMEs as a key engine of national economic development.
