APAP will invest RD$131 million in social projects this year

The executive president of the Popular Association of Savings and Loans (APAP), Gustavo Ariza, announced an investment of 131 million pesos for this year to finance social projects linked to education, health, employability, and entrepreneurship.

Ariza reported that, of these funds, 92 million were allocated for the financial support of community projects developed by 71 non-profit entities, focusing on early childhood, the elderly, vulnerable women, and people with disabilities.

He also indicated that 33 million pesos will finance training and continuing education programs, aimed at employability and entrepreneurship. 

Likewise, he reported that more than 5 million pesos will be invested in projects for the preservation and conservation of natural resources, in line with the best environmental management practices.

Ariza also highlighted the accessibility and safe mobility projects for people with disabilities, such as the inclusive adaptation of the Heroes of the Restoration Monument Museum in Santiago; and the expansion of the accessibility project at high-traffic intersections in Greater Santo Domingo.

“The funds allocated this year for the development of social transformation projects keep us as one of the financial system entities with the highest volume of social investment, reaffirming our commitment to responsible, sustainable, and high-impact management,” expressed Gustavo Ariza to directors of non-profit organizations, members of the Board of Directors, and APAP executives during the annual donation event held at the financial institution’s headquarters.
