Santo Domingo.- The Popular Association of Savings and Loans (APAP) announced that it will allocate RD$131 million this year to finance social impact initiatives focused on education, health, employability, entrepreneurship, and environmental sustainability.
The announcement was made by the executive president of APAP, Gustavo Ariza, during the entity’s annual donation event, held at its main headquarters, with the participation of directors of non-profit organizations, members of the Board of Directors, and executives of the institution.
Ariza reported that RD$92 million will be allocated to the financial support of community projects developed by 71 non-profit organizations, aimed at the care of early childhood, the elderly, women in vulnerable situations, and people with disabilities.
Likewise, he indicated that RD$33 million will be invested in training and continuing education programs, focused on strengthening employability, entrepreneurship, and training in digital transformation for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Regarding environmental matters, the entity will allocate more than RD$5 million to projects for the preservation and conservation of natural resources, as part of its commitment to best sustainable management practices.

The executive also highlighted several initiatives aimed at improving accessibility and safe mobility for people with disabilities, including the inclusive adaptation of the Museum and Monument to the Heroes of the Restoration, in Santiago, as well as the expansion of the accessibility project at high-traffic intersections in Greater Santo Domingo.
“The funds allocated this year for the development of social transformation projects keep us as one of the entities in the financial system with the highest volume of social investment, reaffirming our commitment to responsible, sustainable, and high-impact management,” stated Ariza.
With this investment, APAP reaffirms its commitment to the integral development of communities and the strengthening of initiatives that contribute to well-being and social inclusion in the Dominican Republic.
