Santo Domingo. – This Tuesday, the major of the Dominican Republic Army, Diego Geraldo Mesa, was transferred to the courtroom, accused of being linked to the death of the young Perla Yocasta Santos, 19 years old, which occurred in the Los Guandules sector of the National District.
The officer’s transfer takes place within the framework of the judicial process being carried out by the authorities, while the Public Ministry preliminarily qualified the act as voluntary homicide, as it continues to deepen the investigations to clarify the circumstances in which the event occurred, which has generated consternation among residents of the area and the victim’s family.
According to versions offered by family members, the young woman had gotten on a motorcycle with one or more companions, information that has not yet been clarified by the authorities, as it is unknown how many people were traveling on the motor at the time of the incident.

Hours later, the person who allegedly drove the motorcycle showed up at the young woman’s residence to report what had happened. Subsequently, Perla Yocasta’s body was found on the public road, in circumstances that are still under investigation.
It is recalled that Jocasta’s mother appeared on the morning of this Monday at the Palace of Justice in Ciudad Nueva, after the military officer was transferred to the corresponding jurisdiction, after being preliminarily linked to the death of the young woman.
