Santo Domingo. – The hearing to determine the coercive measure held in the Permanent Attention Court of the National District against the major of the Army of the Dominican Republic, Diego Geraldo Mesa, identified as the main suspect in the death of Perla Yocasta Santos, 19 years old, which occurred in the Los Guandules sector of the National District, was postponed on the morning of Tuesday, January 6th.
The officer was moved to the courtroom as part of the judicial process being carried out by the authorities; however, the knowledge of the measure was postponed to a later date.
The Public Ministry preliminarily classified the event as voluntary homicide, while continuing to deepen investigations to clarify the circumstances in which the event occurred, which has generated consternation among residents of the area and the victim’s family.
