Santiago. – The Permanent Attention Tribunal of the city of Santiago issued an arrest warrant against two people identified for the moment as “El Flaco” and “Iván”, to be investigated for their alleged participation in the theft of US$400,000.00 in cryptocurrencies, as stated in the complaint.
According to the victim, the amount stolen in transfers amounts to US$700,000.00.
Against those now pursued, arrest warrant No. 2026-AJ0018092-002 was issued, for the alleged violation of articles 265, 266, 379, 382 and 386-2 of the Dominican Penal Code, as well as articles 5, 6, 7, 10, 13 and 14 of Law 53-07 on High Technology Crimes and Offenses, consisting of criminal association, aggravated robbery, illicit access, illicit access for third-party services, damage or alteration of data, robbery through the use of high technology, illicit obtaining of funds and electronic fund transfers.
The aforementioned were identified by the victim through images obtained from the security cameras of a casino, where they held a meeting point. These videos are in the hands of the authorities conducting the investigations.
Due to the fact, it is being pointed out as the alleged ringleader of orchestrating and carrying out this plan the named Joan Carlos Miranda Furcal, who is also pursued by an arrest warrant for the same case.
According to the files, Joan Furcal has an extensive criminal record; he has even been apprehended and subjected to similar acts related to the theft of cryptocurrencies. In addition, he has been prosecuted for other criminal acts.
Authorities are calling on those involved in the investigation to surrender, while members of the Central Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DICRIM), in coordination with the Public Ministry, are activating their location.
