Authorities issue search warrant for woman accused of rape in Cotuí

Sánchez Ramírez. — The Investigation Division (DICRIM) of the National Police in Cotuí issued a “Wanted” notice against a woman identified as Chairenys Báez Espino, accused of being a fugitive from justice and considered dangerous. According to the official report, arrest warrant No. 2026-AJ0020851 was issued for alleged violation of Article 408 of the Dominican Penal Code, to the detriment of citizens Feliz Alberto Polanco Peña and César Leonel Sosa Gómez, in an event that occurred in the municipality of Cotuí, Sánchez Ramírez province. Authorities warn that the accused could be heavily armed, so they urge citizens not to attempt to apprehend her and, instead, to immediately contact security agencies through the enabled numbers. The investigative body reiterated its commitment to find the whereabouts of the accused in order to bring her before the Public Prosecutor’s Office and continue with the due judicial process.
