Banreservas Cultural Center offers a film series in honor of Diane Keaton

The Banreservas Cultural Center of Santo Domingo inaugurated a classic film cycle dedicated to the recently deceased actress Diane Keaton, in which part of her filmography will be screened every Tuesday in January, at 7:00 pm. The billboard started on Tuesday the 13th with the feature film “Two Lovers,” directed by Woody Allen; and starring Diane Keaton, Woody Allen and Paul Simon. The next films will be shown on Tuesday the 20th: “Manhattan,” by Woody Allen; and on Tuesday the 27th, “Something’s Gotta Give,” by Nancy Meyers. The films are shown in the audiovisual hall of the Banreservas Cultural Center, located on Isabel la Católica street, number 202, Colonial City. At the end, attendees can participate in a film forum to delve into the details of the productions.

Synopsis of upcoming movies

“Manhattan”, is a 1979 film directed by Woody Allen, starring Woody, Diane Keaton, and Mariel Hemingway. The story shows the unhappy love and professional relationship of Isaac Davis, a middle-aged New Yorker who falls in love with his best friend’s mistress. The idea of leaving his girlfriend, heeding his new desire, and abandoning his job, marks the beginning of a new life for him. “Something’s Gotta Give” features the stellar performances of Diane Keaton, Jack Nicholson, and Keanu Reeves. It is a 2003 film directed by Nancy Meyers, which introduces Harry Sanborn, a confirmed bachelor who only dates women much younger than him. After falling ill, he falls in love with his girlfriend’s mother and his world begins to change.
