Belkys Concepcion and her Girls before more than 25 thousand people in Bogota

The event featured the participation of teacher Belkys Concepción and her Girls before more than 25 thousand people, in a gathering that brought together 124 musicians, who paid tribute to Latin American music BOGOTÁ: The 24th edition of Colombia al Parque brought together 25,000 attendees in the Parque de los Novios, in Bogotá, in a celebration dedicated to Latin American song and the role of women as guardians of cultural memory. Over two days, the festival offered a space for encounter marked by music, dance, and the diversity of audiences and generations.

Organized by the District Institute of the Arts (Idartes), the event brought together 124 musicians and groups that paid tribute to the sound roots of Latin America. The program highlighted female voices and their contribution to the construction of identity, territory, and collective memory.

The Saturday’s event, under the concept “Those who sing the party”, brought together proposals such as Draculina, Corazón Santandereano and Duetorres, who brought sounds from the Caribbean, Andean music and Colombian family traditions to the stage. The programming highlighted the musical diversity and the value of the country’s cultural roots. One of the most emotional moments was the presentation of the Lucho Bermúdez Orchestra, which made the audience sing and dance with classics like Colombia tierra querida and Carmen de Bolívar. Also outstanding were Flor de Cerezo, Reburú and Martina Camargo, who moved the audience with a staging focused on oral tradition and the transmission of ancestral music. Saturday night closed with one of the most celebrated performances of the festival: that of maestra Belkys Concepción with her Chica. The show unleashed the euphoria of the public and turned the Parque de los Novios into a large dance floor, where merengue shone brightly at the hand of the popular Dominican female group.

Classics like La Media María, Juana la Cubana, Comején, among others, made thousands of attendees sing and dance, in a closing loaded with energy, nostalgia and Caribbean celebration. On Sunday, under the theme “Those who lull the soul,” the festival brought together Andean, Afro-Caribbean, and Latin American sounds with groups like Bogotanismo, La Rola Band, Bejuco, and Bambarabanda. One of the most emotional moments was the performance of Quilapayún together with Marta Gómez and Bambarabanda, while Marta Gómez’s closing gave the festival a warm and emotional atmosphere. In addition to the concerts, Colombia al Parque offered cultural spaces, workshops, and ventures, establishing itself as a stage for encounter, memory, and inclusion through Latin American music.
