Central Government and COAAROM break ground for drinking water networks in Caleta and Romana del Oeste

The RD$155.5 million project will impact more than 35,000 people in 6 sectors of La Romana

La Romana. – The Central Government, together with the La Romana Aqueduct and Sewer Corporation (COAAROM), held the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of drinking water distribution networks on Palmares St. #1, Caleta.

The project, with SNIP code 16923 and an investment of RD$155,593,754.87, includes a 5.3-kilometer conduction line that will directly benefit more than 35,000 people in Romana del Oeste, Las Orquídeas, Residencial Romana, Vista Catalina, the Caleta Municipal District, and the Hilton Hotel.

The general director of COAAROM, Dolores Núñez, offered the technical details and highlighted that the work will improve the pressure, quality, and continuity of the service.

The event was attended by Governor Ivelisse Mercedes, District Director Eduardo Reyes, and the president of the Residencial Romana Neighborhood Association, who expressed gratitude on behalf of the community. Also present was the COAAROM Board of Directors, led by its president Víctor Santana, along with local authorities and business leaders.
