Santo Domingo. – The member of the Political Committee, former secretary general, and former senator of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Charlie Mariotti Tapia, stated this Monday that this organization is “the only party in clear growth” in the current political landscape, while asserting that the ruling PRM and the People’s Force (FP) show a downward trend.
During his participation in the program Zol de la Mañana, Mariotti maintained that the polling data he handles reflects a significant change in citizen perception and voting intention.
“The reality today is what I have been saying for a year: nothing is written, and the PLD is the only party in clear growth and the only one that does not stop,” expressed the Operational Coordinator, Spokesperson, and Director of Strategic Communication for the Gonzalo Castillo presidential project.
The political leader cited results from recent studies to support his claims, highlighting that a large majority of the population favors a change of party in power.
“71.8% say they want a party other than the PRM to govern, while only 17.6% support the continuity of the government,” he indicated.
Mariotti also pointed out that, according to his measurements, for the first time a scenario of equilibrium between the main political forces is being observed.
“For the first time, I don’t see anyone ahead. We are talking about practically a technical tie between the main political forces,” he explained.
Regarding the evolution of voting intention, he detailed that in surveys conducted between May and July, a growth trend for the PLD is evident against the decline of its competitors.
“In July, the Fuerza del Pueblo drops to 29.7, the PRM to 25.6, and the PLD rises to 23.6. That is the Gonzalo effect,” he stated.

The former senator also addressed the economic issue, pointing out a high level of citizen dissatisfaction with the cost of living.
“92% of the population says that basic necessities have increased,” he/she stressed.
Likewise, he indicated that there is widespread discontent with fuel prices.
“82% of people are dissatisfied with the issue of gas prices,” he added.
The PLD leader concluded that the Dominican political landscape remains open, with an electorate that is increasingly critical and demanding of concrete results.
