He indicated that for Chile, it is key to observe successful experiences in strategic areas, especially in sectors such as tourism and infrastructure, with the purpose of knowing firsthand the factors that have driven national development and evaluating lessons that can be applied to the Chilean reality.“I met the Dominican Republic 35 years ago and it never ceases to amaze us with its development, growth and levels of security in all areas,” he said.

Likewise, he highlighted the exchanges previously held with Dominican authorities in international forums, which facilitated the organization of this institutional approach to learn about the Dominican model of growth and public management. In immigration matters, he highlighted that the Dominican Republic has developed a relevant and exemplary policy, in line with the complex reality shared by two nations in the same island territory, characterized by marked social, economic, and structural differences. Upon his arrival in Santiago, the president-elect was also received by a delegation of deputies and officials. The visit is part of a tour of Central America and the Caribbean that includes meetings and activities related to regional cooperation, security, and migration.
