COE maintains 9 provinces in yellow and 13 in green due to rains this Saturday
Santo Domingo. – The Emergency Operations Center (COE) reported this Saturday that nine provinces are under yellow alert and another 12, along with the National District, are under green alert, due to the rains generated by a trough affecting the country.
The provinces under yellow alert are Montecristi, Puerto Plata, Santiago, Espaillat, Hermanas Mirabal, María Trinidad Sánchez, La Vega, Monseñor Nouel, and Samaná.
Meanwhile, Valverde, Santiago Rodríguez, Elías Piña, San Juan, Duarte, Sánchez Ramírez, Monte Plata, San José de Ocoa, San Cristóbal, Peravia, Santo Domingo, the National District, and Hato Mayor are on green alert.
According to the forecasts, an increase in cloudiness is expected during the afternoon, accompanied by moderate to heavy showers, thunderstorms and wind gusts, mainly towards the north, northeast, northwest and the Central Mountain Range.
