San Francisco de Macorís. – The hearing to determine the coercive measure against Raylin Santos, a member of the Dominican Republic Army linked to the death of the teenager Ángel Manuel Luna, was postponed until next Friday at 9:00 in the morning.
As explained by legal representatives of the parties involved, the suspension of the hearing occurred to allow both the defense and the plaintiff to deposit documents and budgets related to the process.
During the hearing, the Public Ministry indicated that the case has been provisionally classified under article 319 of the Dominican Penal Code, referring to involuntary or negligent homicide.
However, lawyers for the plaintiff expressed their disagreement with said legal qualification, alleging that the images and audiovisual materials circulating about the event show a conscious and voluntary action on the part of the defendant, therefore they understand that the criminal type could vary as the investigation progresses.

It was also noted that to date, there is insufficient evidence to attribute criminal responsibility to the police officer driving the patrol car involved in the incident.
The lawyers reported that it will be at the next hearing when each of the parties will formally present their requests and arguments before the court.
