Sabana Iglesia, Santiago. – The Corporation of the Aqueduct and Sewerage of Santiago (Coraasan) and the National Institute of Potable Water and Sewers (Inapa), in coordination with Grupo Estrella and the AlcarAW Consortium, report that they achieved in record time the solution of a breakdown presented in the adduction pipeline that supplies the entire Cibao Central aqueduct since last Thursday, thus guaranteeing the return to the stability of the service in this region.
Work began on Thursday 25th at 12:30 in the afternoon, at which time Coraasan immediately activated its intervention protocol together with the contractors, prioritizing safety, operational efficiency and the prompt restoration of service.
They point out that it was an unforeseeable event which required an immediate and highly technical response, given the strategic importance of the affected line for the supply of drinking water in large areas of Santiago, Tamboril, Licey Al Medio, Espaillat province and other neighboring communities.
It should be noted that, thanks to inter-institutional coordination and the uninterrupted effort of the technical teams, on Monday, December 30th at 10:00 p.m., not only had the repair of the line been completed, but it also opened the possibility for the population to begin receiving the drinking water service again.
The repair of the adduction pipeline was carried out by Coraasan together with the contractors of Grupo Estrella and Consorcio AlcarAW, who deployed personnel, specialized equipment and logistical resources to meet the established deadlines.
This achievement was made possible under the leadership of engineer Andrés Cueto, general director of Coraasan, who, along with his entire technical team, led the operation with planning, constant supervision, and timely decision-making.

Likewise, the close collaboration of Inapa was counted on, whose highly trained technicians, including its general director, Wellington Arnaud.
The authorities reiterated that this type of breakdown is part of unforeseen situations typical of large-scale infrastructures, but that the demonstrated response capacity reflects the institutional commitment to the citizenry.
With the rapid solution reached, citizens will be able to conclude the year receiving the drinking water service gradually, minimizing the effects and ensuring stability in the supply during the holidays.
