Santo Domingo.– The court presiding over the proceedings against artist Rosa María Pineda, known as La Ross María, granted the request submitted by her defense and revoked the declaration of default that had been issued against her following her absence from a hearing.
According to her lawyers, the artist did not attend the previous hearing because she did not receive the corresponding notification, so she was unaware that it was taking place.
During the hearing to lift the default judgment, the defense presented its arguments to the magistrate, who decided to grant the request, annul the legal consequences derived from the declaration, and order the continuation of the proceedings on a new date.
Among the measures rendered ineffective is the travel ban that had been ordered as a consequence of the declaration of contempt of court.
