Santo Domingo.– The renowned Dominican doctor and philanthropist Félix Antonio Cruz Jiminián surprised with personal revelations during an interview on the program Versión Original, hosted by Moisés Salcé and broadcast by Telemicro, where he confessed that in his youth he studied to be a priest and spoke openly about the temptations within the priesthood. During the conversation, Cruz Jiminián explained that he grew up in a deeply Christian environment, where the recitation of the rosary was part of the daily family routine, a situation that led him to make the decision to enter the seminary at 14 years of age. The doctor revealed that he studied for four years at the Santo Tomás de Aquino Seminary, and clarified that his departure from religious formation was not related to women, as many people usually speculate. “I didn’t go out because of women. Priests like women, let’s be clear,” he stated directly during the interview, generating reactions due to the sincerity of his statements.

Cruz Jiminián maintained that priests also experience desires and temptations because “they are men“, and stated that what is forbidden usually awakens more interest. “It means that a priest likes a woman more than someone who is not a priest“, he commented. The doctor also took the opportunity to reflect on discipline and self-control, comparing it to personal decisions he has made throughout his life. He explained that he avoids habits like drinking alcohol because he maintains a strict routine of work and medical service. “Every day I get up at four in the morning, 365 days a year, even when I’m sick, to make rounds,” said the doctor, highlighting the commitment he has maintained for decades with his patients and with the social work he carries out from his clinic in Cristo Rey. Cruz Jiminián’s statements quickly began circulating on social media, where users highlighted both the frankness of his words and the discipline he claims to maintain in his personal and professional life.
