Deport ‘El Mello Loco’ and ‘El Mello Sangriento’ from Puerto Rico for assault in Cristo Rey

Santo Domingo.– The National Police reported that it received as deportees from Puerto Rico the brothers Wilner Rafael Solano García, alias “El Mello Loco”, and Wilmer Rafael Solano García, known as “El Mello Sangriento”, both linked to the assault that occurred at the Popi Oro jewelry store, in the Cristo Rey sector, National District. The two men, aged 22, arrived in the country through the Sans Souci tourist terminal aboard the Kydon vessel, owned by the company Ferries del Caribe, where they were handed over to the Dominican authorities. The operation was coordinated between the General Directorate of Migration, the Repatriated Unit of the Public Ministry, and the National Central Bureau (NCB-Interpol) Santo Domingo, with the support of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Border Patrol of Puerto Rico. Upon their arrival, both were taken into custody by agents of the National Police’s Department of Crimes and Property Offenses.

Authorities indicated that the accused are required by court orders for criminal association, homicide, and armed robbery. Against the brothers are arrest warrants No. 01399-2026, issued by a court of the Judicial District of La Altagracia, and No. 0053-MARCH-2026, issued by the Coordination of the Instruction Courts of the National District. In addition, they were on a red notice for international search and capture, which facilitated their location and subsequent deportation from Puerto Rico. Investigations link them to several criminal acts, including the armed robbery of the Popi Oro jewelry store that occurred on March 7 in Cristo Rey, an event in which one person died and several were affected. The Police reported that both will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the knowledge of coercion measures in the coming hours.
