Santiago de los Caballeros.- The National Police arrested a man in Santiago who was actively wanted for his alleged participation in the theft of a safe containing firearms, money, and clothing, which was stolen from a residence in the municipality of Licey al Medio on July 14th.
The detainee was identified as Railin Cabrera Núñez, against whom there was a judicial arrest warrant for the aforementioned case. His capture occurred following a surveillance operation deployed by agents of the Department of Investigations of Crimes against Property (DICRIM) of Santiago and the National District.
According to the police report, investigators tracked Cabrera Núñez’s movements from Santo Domingo to La Yagüita de Pastor, Santiago, where he was intercepted while traveling in a white Kia K5 vehicle.
Upon being verified in the police system, authorities confirmed that he was listed as an actively wanted person, with an active arrest warrant for his alleged connection to the robbery.

Second suspect turns himself in
Within the framework of the investigations, George Andrés Reyes Aponte, alias “El Flaco”, was also being sought, who ended up turning himself in to the authorities through his lawyer and family members at the Investigation Division (DICRIM) in Santiago.
The authorities maintain that both men are allegedly linked not only to the robbery of the safe in Licey al Medio, but also to other criminal acts related to burglaries by breaking and entering recorded in Santiago.
Cabrera Núñez remains in police custody and will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal proceedings, while investigations continue to determine his responsibility and establish if there are others involved in the events.
