The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic published the reference prices for the purchase and sale of the dollar for this Wednesday, August 12, as follows:
In Financial Entities, the purchase rate stood at RD$56.88 and the selling rate at RD$59.57.
While at Remittance and Exchange Agents, the purchase rate closed at RD$57.97 and the sale rate at RD$58.91.
In the banking sector, the local currency experienced a slight daily depreciation of between 0.04% and 0.06% compared to the previous day.
However, at remittance and exchange agents, the peso appreciated by 0.07% in both rates during the day.
From a monthly perspective, the strengthening trend is clear. Compared to the rates from a month ago, the national currency shows an appreciation of 1.16% to 1.25% in financial institutions, and between 0.72% and 1.01% in the remittance sector.
