The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic published the reference prices for the purchase and sale of the dollar for this Wednesday, August 19, as follows:

In financial institutions, the US dollar purchase rate stood at RD$57.14, while the selling rate was at RD$59.70.

Compared to the previous day, the dollar experienced a slight daily appreciation of 0.17% in the purchase price and 0.06% in the selling price against the peso.

However, when looking at the annual landscape, the Dominican peso has gained ground significantly. A year ago, the purchase rate was RD$60.59, which represents a 6.04% appreciation of the peso over the last 12 months within the banking sector.

For their part, Remittance and Exchange Agents reported a purchase rate of RD$58.31 and a sale rate of RD$59.25.

In this sector, the daily behavior reflected a marginal increase of the dollar of 0.18% in the purchase and 0.09% in the sale compared to the previous day.
