Dominican Republic achieves first victory in the U-23 Men’s Softball Pan Am Games
Santo Domingo.– The U-23 men’s national softball team defeated Canada 5-4 for their first victory in the Pan American Cup being played in Argentina, where four places for the 2026 World Cup are at stake. The victory leaves the Dominicans with a 1-4 record.
The tournament organized by WBSC-Baseball and Softball America, takes place at the Arnaldo Bautista Gómez stadium in Santa Rosa, La Pampa, Argentina, where the local Argentinians, Cuba, Peru, Guatemala, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the United States are also convened.
Jonni Suriel was credited with the victory for the Dominican Republic, pitching the complete game; he allowed six hits, four earned runs, did not concede a walk, and struck out four opponents, to leave his ERA at 1.57.
