Santo Domingo.– The Puerto Rico women’s national team debuted with a resounding 15-0 victory over Guatemala in the softball tournament of the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026.

The Puerto Rican team dominated the game from start to finish and secured the victory via the mercy rule, thanks to an explosive offense and a solid performance by their pitching staff, which did not allow any runs to the Guatemalan team.

With this result, Puerto Rico adds its first victory in the competition and emerges as one of the main contenders to compete for the tournament’s medals.

Guatemala, for its part, will try to recover in its next match of the preliminary phase to stay in the fight to advance to the next round.
