Dominican Republic and the IDB to Host the 2025 Americas Business Summit

The event, which will be held on the eve of the 10th Summit of the Americas, will bring together prominent business leaders and Heads of State from across the region, with the aim of driving private sector-led development. Discussions will focus on key issues such as the responsible management of critical minerals, the conditions that encourage investment —including security— and the future of financial systems in Latin America and the Caribbean.
“We are pleased to announce that, fulfilling our commitment to offer a space for dialogue between governments and the private sector, we will work with the Inter-American Development Bank to host the 5th Americas Business Summit,” said Roberto Álvarez, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic.“Strong collaboration between companies and governments is essential to foster private sector-led development. The Americas Business Summit is a unique platform to turn dialogue into concrete opportunities in key areas of potential for the region. It is an honor to co-organize this event with the Government of the Dominican Republic,” said Ilan Goldfajn, IDB President.
Prior to the event, more than 70 companies and business associations met in Santo Domingo as part of the Americas Business Dialogue (ABD), an initiative led by the private sector and facilitated by the IDB to promote high-level exchange between governments and companies in the region. The meeting focused on finalizing recommendations for the Business Summit and the Summit of the Americas in general. This will be the fourth Business Summit organized by the IDB.
