With the participation of the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, the Export and Investment Center of the Dominican Republic (ProDominicana) and the international organization Concordia, the Concordia Horizon Summit 2026: Dominican Republic was held, a high-level global forum that brought together leaders from the public and private sectors, and civil society to address the main challenges of the global and regional agenda.
The meeting was attended by national and international leaders and experts from multilateral organizations, the private sector, and governments, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Roberto Álvarez; the Minister of Interior and Police, Faride Raful; the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Mipymes, Eduardo Sanz Lovatón; the general administrator of the Banco de Reservas de la República Dominicana, Leonardo Aguilera; US Congressman Adriano Espaillat; and the executive director of ProDominicana, Biviana Riveiro, the executive vice president of the National Council of Private Enterprise (CONEP), César Dargam, among others.
Among the international voices were representatives from the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF), the Rockefeller Foundation, and ambassadors to the Organization of American States, as well as executives from global companies such as The Coca-Cola Company and TikTok.
The agenda also included the participation of actors from the governmental and international legislative spheres, as well as the participation of spokespersons from more than 19 countries, including representatives from the US Congress, providing a geopolitical and hemispheric cooperation perspective to the debates.
The Executive Director of ProDominicana, Biviana Riveiro Disla, presented the country’s business opportunities, highlighting its role as a regional platform for trade, logistics, and investment in the Caribbean, as well as its competitive advantages for attracting foreign investment.

The panels addressed topics of global scope such as economic security, international trade, climate resilience, investment climate, energy transition, public-private partnerships, and the defense of democracy in the digital age, consolidating the event as a high-level dialogue space with regional and international impact.
Also, Riveiro participated in the panel “Sustainable growth and resilience in global trade”, which analyzed the challenges and opportunities to strengthen trade and investment flows through strategies aimed at more resilient, inclusive and sustainable systems.
During the meeting, the conversations focused on two main axes: Economy and Global Trade, and Democracy, Security and Geopolitical Risk, addressing issues such as the evolution of supply chains, investment opportunities in emerging markets, institutional stability, and the impact of disinformation on democratic systems.
