Santo Domingo, D.R.– The Dominican Republic and Mexico took a new step in technical cooperation with the signing of an agreement aimed at strengthening research, innovation, and technological development in the areas of energy and hydrocarbons.
The agreement was signed in Santo Domingo by the Ministry of Energy and Mines and the Mexican Petroleum Institute (IMP), with the purpose of promoting joint initiatives that contribute to scientific development and the exchange of knowledge between both nations.
As part of the agreement, the institutions will work on research projects, training programs for professionals in the sector, technology transfer, and academic cooperation actions that will allow for the strengthening of technical capabilities in energy matters.
The authorities highlighted that this alliance seeks to promote the training of specialized talent and encourage the application of new technologies that contribute to the sustainable development of the energy sector.

The Ministry of Energy and Mines noted that the initiative is part of the country’s efforts to consolidate a more solid technical and scientific base, capable of responding to current and future challenges related to the production, management, and utilization of energy resources.
