The Executive Directorate of National Irrigation Technification (TNR) received a delegation from the National Irrigation Commission (CNR) of Chile, within the framework of a technical visit aimed at learning about the experiences developed by the Dominican Republic in the field of agricultural production under protected environments.
The mission is part of a bilateral cooperation process through which the Dominican Republic shares knowledge, best practices, and management models implemented in the country, while strengthening the exchange of experiences with the South American nation for the benefit of both institutions.
The Chilean delegation is composed of Valentina Mulchi Oviedo, coordinator of the Monitoring Unit for Contests and Special Programs, and Sebastián Morán Vallejo, support professional at CNR, who are developing a work agenda together with technicians and directors of the TNR.
During the welcome ceremony, Manuel Mejía, head of Planning and Development, valued the technical cooperation between countries in the region, highlighting that the experience accumulated by the Dominican Republic in irrigation modernization and agricultural production in protected environments constitutes an important contribution to the exchange of knowledge and the strengthening of institutional capacities with Chile.
Likewise, the Chilean delegation spoke about their experiences and programs developed by the National Irrigation Commission of Chile, generating a space for mutual learning that will allow for the identification of more opportunities for collaboration and the development of joint initiatives for the benefit of both countries.
