Santo Domingo.– Within the framework of an expansion and modernization program for the public lighting system, Edesur Dominicana has installed, replaced, and standardized nearly 10,000 luminaires in 12 districts within its concession area.
The work has been carried out since last March in Azua, San Cristóbal, San José de Ocoa, Barahona, San Juan, Peravia, Bahoruco, Elías Piña, Independencia, Pedernales, Santo Domingo, and the National District.
As part of the initiative, 6,022 luminaires have been standardized, 3,506 replaced, and 363 new lamps installed.
Field operations are carried out with the support of municipal authorities and are intended to update the inventory of streetlights that are on and off.
These interventions allow the distributor to advance in updating its database with georeferenced information on each installed lamp, laying the foundations for more efficient and sustainable management.

With this program, Edesur optimizes the public lighting service by extending the useful life of the luminaires, reducing their energy consumption, and increasing road safety, which contributes to reducing criminal acts in its concession area.
