ETED will carry out scheduled power outages this Wednesday in the south due to work in Cruce de Cabral

Santo Domingo. – The Dominican Electric Transmission Company (ETED) reported that this Wednesday, May 6, will carry out a series of scheduled interruptions in the electrical service as part of the expansion work at the Cruce de Cabral 2 substation. According to the institution, work will begin at 7:00 in the morning with the intervention of several 138 kV transmission lines, which will allow progress in the process of improving the electrical infrastructure in that area. During this first period, which will extend until 10:00 in the morning, there will be disruptions in the electricity supply in the province of Pedernales. Later, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, new work will be carried out on another of the lines, which will impact service in various locations in the south of the country.

Among the communities that could experience interruptions are sectors of Barahona, Vicente Noble, Neyba, Jimaní and Duvergé, as well as other nearby areas. Also, several major companies and infrastructure in the region will be temporarily affected, including industrial, energy, and service facilities. The ETED explained that these actions are part of a process of strengthening the electrical transmission system, with the aim of improving the stability and quality of service in the south of the country. The entity asked for understanding from the citizens regarding the inconveniences that these works may generate, assuring that they are necessary to guarantee a more efficient and reliable supply in the long term.
