Santo Domingo.– The communicator and writer Euri Cabral presented this Thursday the Dominican edition of his book “Juan Luis Guerra, commitment and poetry”, a work that analyzes the artistic trajectory of the renowned Dominican musician, his contribution to the internationalization of merengue and bachata, as well as the process of spiritual transformation that marked his life.
The launch was held in the Aída Cartagena Portalatín room of the National Library, with the presence of personalities from different sectors of Dominican society. During the event, Cabral highlighted that the publication does not intend to be a traditional biography, but rather an essay on the artistic dimension of Juan Luis Guerra and the significance of his work.
“This book is not strictly a biography. I say it is an essay on what Juan Luis means in artistic terms, his greatest hits, the fact that he represents Dominican identity”, the author explained during an interview for De Último Minuto.
However, he pointed out that the central element of the work is the transformation process experienced by the artist, who, despite achieving fame, success, and international recognition, decided to embrace his Christian faith as the axis of his life.
“He decided to accept Jesus as his lord and savior and that is when his life changed. And he continues to be the same extraordinary Juan Luis, with all the success, but always giving honor to the Lord,” expressed Cabral.

The writer maintained that precisely that transformation constitutes, in his view, the greatest strength of the Bachata Rosa performer, defining him as “a musical servant of Jesus” and presenting his story as an example of how faith can transform a life even in the midst of success and fame.
The activity featured words of blessing from Pastor Raffy Paz, while the director of the National Library, Rafael Peralta Romero, offered a greeting message. Also participating were the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Francisco Caraballo, and the intellectual Marino Berigüete, who was in charge of the official presentation of the work.
Juan Luis Guerra, commitment and poetry is available in the country’s main bookstores and digital sales platforms, at a cost of 1,500 pesos. It can also be ordered by calling 809-473-8171, through which home or office delivery is offered to you.
