The financial magazine Euromoney, one of the most influential publications in the international banking sector, recognized Banco de Reservas as the Best Bank in the Caribbean, the highest regional award granted by the publication, in recognition of its solid performance, sustained growth, financial strength, and capacity for adaptation.
In addition to this recognition, Banreservas received five other awards that consolidate its leadership in regional banking: Best SME Bank in the Caribbean, Best Corporate Responsibility Bank in the Caribbean, Best Corporate Responsibility Bank in the Dominican Republic, Best Digital Bank in the Dominican Republic, and Best Bank for Corporate Enterprises in the Dominican Republic.
When referring to these distinctions, the executive president of Banreservas, Dr. Leonardo Aguilera, stated that the recognition as Best Bank in the Caribbean and the other awards reaffirm the institution’s commitment to the productive sectors of the Dominican Republic, boosting economic dynamism and job creation.
“Every recognition we receive is a powerful reason to continue contributing to our country. These awards are the result of the effort of the men and women who put their hearts into every area of Banreservas so that the economy grows, new jobs are generated, and opportunities are created for Dominicans,” expressed Aguilera.
The banking executive pointed out that this regional distinction reflects the vision of excellence, innovation, and sustainable development that guides the institution, consolidating its role as an engine of economic growth for the Dominican Republic and as a benchmark for the Caribbean financial system.
Evaluation criteria
To select the award-winning financial entities, Euromoney applies a methodology that combines quantitative analysis, qualitative evaluations, and independent research to measure the performance of banks against their competitors in each market.
The recognition as Best Bank in the Caribbean and the other distinctions reflect Banreservas’ leadership within the Dominican financial system and its regional positioning, supported by innovation, the quality of its services, sustainability, and the strength of its financial results.
Likewise, the magazine highlighted Banreservas’ ability to comprehensively serve retail clients, small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as the corporate segment, which, according to the publication, constitutes an indicator of resilience, operational continuity, and the capacity to finance economic activity throughout different cycles.
The publication also valued the strategy for serving the Dominican diaspora through specialized international offices, remittance platforms, and integrated financial solutions that connect remittances, savings, and mortgages, offering a unified experience for clients with international income or ties to the Dominican Republic. This level of integration represents a differentiating element within the Caribbean context.
Another aspect highlighted by Euromoney was the support that Banreservas provides to micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, strengthening this important segment of the national economy. This commitment was evidenced during the most recent edition of Expo Pymes Banreservas, which concluded with financing exceeding RD$17.2 billion.
So far this year, Banreservas has received various international recognitions that highlight its financial and administrative performance, as well as its social responsibility programs and initiatives that generate a positive impact on Dominican society.
