Popular is recognized by Euromoney as the Best Bank in the DR

Banco Popular Dominicano was recognized, for the eleventh time, as the Best Bank in the Dominican Republic at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2026, one of the most important evaluation and recognition programs in the international financial industry.
The distinction once again places Banco Popular among the best-performing financial institutions in the country, following an independent evaluation that assessed aspects such as business strategy, financial results, innovation, customer experience, and execution capability.
The selection was made by the research team and the editorial committee of Euromoney using a methodology that combines the analysis of comparable indicators and interviews with the management teams of the participating entities.
Upon learning of the decision, the executive president of Banco Popular, Mr. Christopher Paniagua, stated that achieving this distinction for the eleventh time reflects the consistency of the institutional management and the permanent commitment of its collaborators.
“We receive this award with great satisfaction because it recognizes the work done by our staff and the trust that clients place in our organization. It motivates us to continue innovating and offering the best financial solutions that respond to the needs of people, companies, and the country’s development,” the executive stated.
More than 700 entities evaluated
The Euromoney Awards for Excellence are among the leading recognition programs in international banking. The 2026 edition featured more than 700 financial institutions from 125 countries and territories, evaluated through a process that analyzes business information, performance metrics, and the organizations’ strategic vision.
Founded in 1969, Euromoney is a publication specializing in banking, capital markets, and investments that organizes these awards annually to distinguish the best-performing financial institutions in the markets where they operate.
