Fake Migration agents arrested for assaults in Constanza

Constanza, La Vega.– Several men were arrested in the act by members of the National Police, accused of assaulting Haitian nationals by posing as agents of the General Directorate of Migration (DGM), in an event that occurred within an agricultural farm in the El Mimero sector, municipality of Constanza, where the victims were working. The detainees, residents of the Las Flores neighborhood of this municipality, were identified as Antoni Tiburcio Cabral (a) “Petaca”, Víctor Manuel Ramírez (a) “El Neke”, Darlin Paniagua Custodio (a) “La Parita”, Luis Manuel Martes Gonzales and Anderson de la Cruz Orosco (a) “El Caru”.

According to the preliminary report, the suspects were arrested by agents of the Preventive Police and subsequently referred to the Investigation Division of the National Police in Constanza for the corresponding purposes. During the shipping process, several motorcycles were seized, which were allegedly used by the detainees to move around and commit the criminal act. Authorities reported that other individuals involved managed to escape from the scene, so the National Police is deepening the investigations with the aim of identifying the fugitives and requesting the corresponding arrest warrants.

The detainees, along with the seized evidence, remain in police custody and will be placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal purposes.
