The Mexican animation studio HuevoCartoon announced the death of Fernando Meza, who was a fundamental part of the birth of the creative conglomerate in the early 2000s.
Without specifying further details, the company that began as a modest animated series on the internet and achieved its transition to various products on the big screen, issued a statement lamenting the loss.
“Everyone at HuevoCartoon deeply regrets the sensitive passing of our very dear Fernando Javier Meza Muñoz. He was one of the most important creative minds in the studio and with his incredible talent for creating voices he has left a legacy impossible to replace. The history of our company simply could not be told without him.”
“From day one, from the first script, from the first recording and until the last performance he gave recently, Fernando always imprinted his mark full of sympathy and spontaneity that only a few privileged people can have. We deeply sympathize with his family and accompany them in these difficult times. Rest in peace our dear Ferdinand.”
Details about the death of Fernando Meza, nor the circumstances in which he died, have not been disclosed. Information about his age, date of birth, or information regarding funeral services has also not been released.
For now, shows of affection and consternation have been quick to appear on social media, and in fan groups of animation and Mexican dubbing.
From Creative Genius to His Voice on the Big Screen
Fernando Meza voiced several characters in the successful saga, with ‘Tlacua’ and ‘Lagartijo’ being among his most recognized works.
Other characters voiced by Fernando Meza include Ferdinand, in ‘A Movie of Eggs‘, Scorpion Egg Leader, in ‘Another Movie of Eggs and a Chicken’, and Host Duck in ‘A Rooster with Many Eggs’.
The passing of Fernando has generated a wave of tributes and messages of condolence on social media, where colleagues and followers have remembered his contribution to the universe of HuevoCartoon and to Latin Spanish dubbing.
Meza’s career in the animation world began in 2001, when, after obtaining his degree in marketing, he decided to join as a voice actor in an emerging project: HuevoCartoon.
His talent became evident by bringing to life emblematic characters such as the “Huevos Rancheros” and the “Huevo Poetas”, who became references for the most irreverent animated shorts of the time.
The recognition of his work was consolidated in 2006, when he participated in the franchise’s jump to the big screen with A Movie of Eggs, playing one of the Tlacuaches buddies.
Over the years, Fernando Meza participated in various studio productions, contributing not only his voice, but also his creativity in the construction of characters that marked generations of viewers.
His work was fundamental in defining the sound and visual identity of HuevoCartoon, consolidating him as a key figure in contemporary Mexican animation.
