Santo Domingo.– The authorities reported that the fire recorded this Saturday in the vicinity of the old Cancino landfill was brought under control with no casualties or affected persons reported.

According to official information, the fire originated in an adjacent area where tires were stored, and not inside the old landfill or the solid waste transfer station.

As a preventive measure, the transfer station temporarily suspended its operations while response agencies worked to control the fire. During these efforts, DO Sostenible teams provided support to the competent authorities.
