This credit rating agency is the world’s largest specializing in the insurance industry. The assessment they have carried out on Seguros Reservas reflects the strength of its balance sheet, which AM Best values as the strongest, as well as its strong operating performance, neutral business profile and appropriate comprehensive risk management (ERM). The strength of Seguros Reservas’ balance sheet is supported by its risk-adjusted capitalization at the strongest level, based on Best’s Capital Adequacy Ratio (BCAR). The ratings also reflect its strong operating performance, driven by consistent profitability, which comes from a diversified business portfolio, as well as contained underwriting leverage, and the company’s affiliation with the Banco de Reservas de la República Dominican Republic, Banco de Servicios Múltiples (Banco de Reservas), the largest bank in the Dominican Republic, as its parent company. The company maintains a prominent 19% share of written premiums within the total insurance market, with a distribution of 24% in the General Risks branch and 13% in Personal Insurance, according to data reported by the Dominican Association of Insurers and Reinsurers –CADOAR–, corresponding to the 18 main insurers in the country. The participation in net premiums collected was also outstanding, with 18%, i.e., 0.5 percentage points above the market average share. Likewise, the company’s delinquency rate decreased by 1.3 percentage points, standing at 6%.
