Foreign Ministers of Argentina and Paraguay sign an agreement on air services

Buenos Aires.- The Foreign Ministers of Argentina, Pablo Quirno, and Paraguay, Rubén Ramírez Lezcano, signed an agreement on air services this Thursday in Buenos Aires, in line with the ‘open skies’ policy promoted by the Governments of both countries, official sources reported. According to a statement issued by the Argentine Foreign Ministry, the agreement “promotes the modernization and liberalization of airspace between both countries, will favor the provision of more competitive air commercial services and will allow users to access greater alternatives of connectivity, frequencies, better fares and an optimized service”. The agreement was signed during a meeting in which both ministers discussed the main issues on the bilateral agenda, “in a context of renewed political understanding and strategic convergence that characterizes the bilateral relationship,” the statement highlights. According to the official note, Quirno and Ramírez Lezcano “highlighted the progress of the different projects in terms of physical and energy integration, aimed at boosting the prosperity of the region”. Among other things, they underscored the positive impact of removing trade restrictions to increase exports between both countries.
