The meteorological agency reported that another tropical wave has left the African coast and called on the population to remain attentive to the evolution of both systems.
Santo Domingo.— The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) maintains active surveillance over a zone of thunderstorms associated with an area of low pressure located in the central part of the tropical Atlantic, which has a 60% probability of cyclonic development over the next 48 hours and 80% over the next seven days.
The information was provided by meteorologist Claudio Amparo, who explained that this type of system begins to be more frequent during this stage of the hurricane season, so he recommended that the population stay informed about its evolution and trajectory.
Likewise, he reported that during the early hours of the night another tropical wave left the coasts of Africa, although it currently has a 10% potential for development as a tropical cyclone.
“It is normal for these systems to start forming in this area of the Atlantic by this time of year,” explained Amparo, who called on the public to follow official information regarding both phenomena.

Amparo explained that the green alert mainly implies that the population should stay informed and pay special attention to the evolution of atmospheric conditions.

He recommended that people residing in vulnerable areas, especially those prone to flooding, adopt the necessary preventive measures in advance and remain attentive to the recommendations of civil protection agencies.

For the rest of the national territory, Indomet forecasts scattered showers, isolated thunderstorms, and wind gusts during the night and early morning hours.
Rainfall will be concentrated mainly in provinces of the eastern plains, the northeastern slope, and the Caribbean coastline, as well as sectors of the Central mountain range.
The meteorological agency urged the population to remain attentive to official bulletins, especially those living in vulnerable areas, given the possibility that the rains could cause urban flooding and other events associated with atmospheric conditions.
Surveillance is maintained both over the low-pressure area in the Atlantic and over the new tropical wave that has just emerged from Africa, in a hurricane season that remains active.
