San Francisco de Macorís. – The Gigantes del Cibao announced the signing of American infielder Jack Pineda as an imported player for the upcoming 2026-27 season of the Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM).

Pineda, 27 years old, belongs to the Kansas City Royals organization and plays primarily in the infield, with experience at shortstop, second base, and third base. He bats left and throws right.
Excellent season in 2026
Pineda is coming off an outstanding performance during the 2026 season in the Kansas City minor leagues. Between Double-A and Triple-A, he participated in 81 games, recording a .351 average, with 104 hits, 20 doubles, three triples, nine home runs, 40 RBIs, 49 runs scored, and 18 stolen bases.

In addition, he finished with an on-base percentage of .413, a slugging percentage of .530, and an excellent OPS of .944, demonstrating the ability to hit for average, reach base, and contribute speed.
His best production came in Double-A with Northwest Arkansas, where he batted .371 in 59 games, the result of 78 hits in 210 at-bats. There, he hit 10 doubles, three triples, and seven home runs, drove in 25 runs, scored 34, and stole 16 bases, with an OBP of .443 and an OPS of .991.
He was subsequently promoted to Triple-A Omaha, where he maintained his strong performance by batting .302, with 10 doubles, two home runs, and 15 RBIs in 22 games.

Experience within the Kansas City organization
Pineda was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 12th round of the 2022 MLB Draft, coming from Baylor University.
Over four seasons in the minor leagues, he has participated in 321 games, accumulating 315 hits, 69 doubles, 21 home runs, 131 RBIs, and 58 stolen bases, in addition to recording a .268 batting average and a .355 on-base percentage.

The general manager of the Gigantes del Cibao, Jaylon Pimentel, highlighted the versatility and the good offensive form of the new reinforcement.
“Pineda is a versatile player who can defend multiple infield positions and is coming off an excellent offensive season. We understand that he can help us in different aspects of the game,” expressed Pimentel.
Fifth import announced
With the signing of Pineda, the Gigantes del Cibao bring to five the number of imported players announced for the upcoming season.
The infielder joins first baseman Jake Holton and pitchers Adam Seminaris, Jared Wetherbee and Jackson Goddard, who were previously announced by the organization.
The Giants continue working on shaping their roster for the 2026-27 season, which will begin on Friday, October 16, when they host the Águilas Cibaeñas at the Julián Javier Stadium in San Francisco de Macorís, starting at 7:00 PM.
