Santiago.- The Dominican government carried out an extensive social assistance campaign in various vulnerable sectors of the Santiago province, where more than 26,000 food rations were distributed with the aim of supporting low-income families and strengthening the population’s food security.
The initiative was executed through the Directorate of Social Assistance and Community Food Supply (DASAC), as part of the social programs promoted by the Government to bring direct aid to communities in vulnerable conditions.
During the operation, the institution’s brigades toured various neighborhoods and communities in Santiago to deliver thousands of food kits containing basic household staples door-to-door, ensuring that the assistance reached the beneficiaries in an organized and direct manner.
The authorities highlighted that these sessions are part of a permanent strategy aimed at guaranteeing access to food for the neediest families, especially in sectors where there are higher levels of economic vulnerability.

The director of DASAC, Edgar Augusto Féliz Arbona, highlighted that the institution maintains a continuous food distribution program in different provinces of the country, in compliance with the social policies promoted by President Luis Abinader to protect the most needy sectors.

As explained, the delivery of more than 26,000 food rations in Santiago seeks to contribute to the well-being of thousands of households and strengthen food security in the beneficiary communities.
The authorities indicated that these operations will continue to be carried out in different parts of the national territory, with the purpose of continuing to bring assistance to families that require support from the State.
The DASAC reiterated its commitment to continue executing social aid programs aimed at improving the quality of life of the most vulnerable population, through the distribution of food and other community assistance actions.
