The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM) reported that the Dominican Government allocated RD$780.3 million in subsidies to keep the prices of the main fuels frozen, and ordered reductions in others for the week of June 6 to 12, 2026.
The prices of premium and regular gasoline, as well as optimal and regular diesel, will remain unchanged, as will those of LPG and natural gas.
Meanwhile, there were price reductions of RD$5.90 for avtur, RD$6.40 for kerosene, RD$5.22 for fuel oil #6, and RD$7.72 for fuel oil #1.
At current prices, the Government is subsidizing consumers with every gallon of fuel they purchase as follows: on LPG with RD$15.95, premium gasoline with RD$13.98, regular gasoline with RD$33.48, regular diesel with RD$48.89, and on optimal diesel with RD$52.95, in order not to transfer the full cost of these to the population.
The subsidies that the Government has allocated to fuels so far this year exceed RD$18 billion, as part of the plan to mitigate the impact of the crisis in the Middle East on the pockets of the most vulnerable.
