The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM) reported that the prices of the main fuels will remain unchanged for the week of July 18 to 24, 2026, despite recent increases and instability in the prices of oil and its derivatives, due to the setback in peace agreements.
This provision entails a subsidy of RD$875.3 million, already reaching RD$22,198.3 million allocated so far this year to protect the population from the inflationary shock derived from oil price hikes resulting from the conflict in the Middle East.
The largest subsidies are intended for regular fuels, to avoid price hikes in public transport and freight transport services so that these are not transferred to the products and goods most consumed by the population.
For this week, the Government is subsidizing consumers with RD$42.65 per gallon of regular gasoline, RD$61.28 per gallon of regular diesel, and RD$13.63 per gallon of LPG.
In the last week, international oil prices rose by almost 12%, due to the rise in geopolitical tensions.
