Port-au-Prince.- The Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) of Haiti announced this Monday a new electoral calendar that sets the first round of presidential and legislative elections for December 13, as well as the referendum to ratify amendments to the Constitution, all of which were initially scheduled for August 30.
The second round of the presidential and legislative elections, along with the voting for territorial collectivities, is scheduled for February 21, 2027. Meanwhile, the final results of the local elections will be published on March 12 of that year.

However, the organization specified that compliance with the schedule will depend on the existence of an acceptable level of security. In addition to the availability of the financial resources necessary to organize the elections in this country, which has not held elections for a decade.
