International Desk .- The Palestinian group Hamas stated this Monday that it is awaiting “clear and official” information from the Peace Board and the mediating countries regarding the disarmament agreement, in addition to reiterating its commitment to the points that had already been agreed upon in the ceasefire pact.
“The Hamas movement and the Palestinian factions stand by what was agreed upon in the implementation of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement, including the commitments of all parties, and we await a clear and official response from Mr. Nikolay Mladenov and the mediating brothers regarding what has been agreed,” the group published this Monday night.
Bulgarian diplomat Nikolai Mladenov, who leads the Peace Board, had previously announced earlier today that the “total withdrawal” of the Israeli Army “beyond the yellow line” in the Strip will take place when the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas completely disarms.
“Contrary to inaccurate reports, it should be noted that the total withdrawal of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) beyond the yellow line will only occur once disarmament is completed, just as Hamas committed to the mediators. This applies to both light and heavy weapons, as well as tunnels,” Mladenov stated on his X profile.
Trump’s roadmap
Since last Thursday, when President Donald Trump, who is promoting the Peace Board, announced that an agreement had been reached for the disarmament of Hamas in the Strip, there have been a series of conflicting statements from all parties involved that call into question the order of the steps to be taken for the laying down of arms to become effective.

Trump announced a pact for the “total disarmament” of Hamas under which Israel commits to what was agreed upon in the Sharm el-Sheikh Protocol, signed in October 2025, particularly to the “cessation of military operations,” according to the roadmap published on X by the Peace Board.
This roadmap also contemplates the progressive elimination of the military capabilities of Hamas and other factions in Gaza under the condition that Israel ends its attacks. This prerequisite also applies to all Palestinian factions.
Last Sunday, Mladenov criticized Israel for continuing to attack the Strip, ending the lives of at least 28 Palestinians, something that Hamas described as an attempt to “hinder” the agreement reached.

Meanwhile, this Monday an Israeli government official on condition of anonymity assured his country’s press that Israel “will not withdraw from the current line in the Gaza Strip” and “will continue to thwart any threat against our citizens and soldiers.”
For its part, Hamas, which confirmed the agreement for its disarmament following Trump’s announcement, had already warned days ago that it includes “the obligation” for Israel to “withdraw from the Gaza Strip,” currently 70% controlled by Israeli forces.
