Los Angeles.- HBO launched this Wednesday the first trailer for the first season of the Harry Potter series, which will consist of eight episodes and whose premiere is scheduled for Christmas.
Under the iconic title ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’ (‘Harry Potter y la piedra filosofal’), the expected television adaptation faithfully embraces the legacy of the original work, by retaking the name that started the legend.
“The series will premiere in the Christmas of 2026 on HBO and will be available online exclusively on HBO Max in all markets where it is available,” the platform indicated in a statement.
The books chart the course of the Harry Potter series
Starring Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, the series begins on the day the protagonist turns 11, just as the 2001 film of the same title begins.
“An admission letter to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry opens a hidden world to Harry: a world of fun, friendship, and magic. But this new adventure carries a great risk, as Harry is forced to face a dangerous enemy from his past,” the synopsis pointed out.
Like the eight films starring Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Emma Watson (Hermione) and Rupert Grint (Ron), the HBO series is based on J. K. It is planned that each season will be based on one of the installments of the saga, with the intention of extending the production over a decade.
Rowling wrote seven Harry Potter books that have sold over 600 million copies, while the eight films grossed $6.822 billion, according to data from the specialized website Box Office Mojo.
