British actor Michael Byrne, remembered for his roles in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (2010), has died at the age of 82. The information was confirmed by The Guardian, which indicated that the passing occurred on June 20th. So far, the cause of his death has not been disclosed.

Born in London on November 7, 1943, Byrne built an artistic career spanning nearly six decades. He took his first steps in theater in 1963, when he joined the National Theatre Company founded by Laurence Olivier at the historic Old Vic.

Throughout his career on stage, he participated in productions such as Death and the Maiden, at the Royal Court, as well as The Traitor and Much Ado About Nothing, at the National Theatre. He was also part of productions such as The Cherry Orchard, The Seagull, and Romeo and Juliet. In later years, he starred in Mary Stuart, at the Duke of York’s Theatre, and Uncle Vanya, at the Theatre Royal in Bath.
