Santo Domingo.– The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) reported that this Saturday a hot environment will prevail in much of the national territory, with a slightly grayish sky due to the presence of Saharan dust particles and the possibility of isolated downpours in several provinces during the afternoon.
Although only very isolated showers are expected over some coastal areas during the morning hours, weather conditions will change in the afternoon due to the influence of a weak tropical wave south of the country, the east wind, and the slight impact of a trough.
Indomet explained that these conditions will favor isolated downpours, possible thunderstorms, and wind gusts in La Altagracia, El Seibo, Sánchez Ramírez, Monte Plata, San Juan, and Elías Piña, where rainfall could extend into the early hours of the night.
In Greater Santo Domingo, skies with scattered clouds, a hot environment, and a light layer of Saharan dust are expected for much of the day, with no significant rainfall.

In light of the high temperatures, the agency urged the population to drink enough water, wear light-colored, lightweight clothing, stay in cool places, and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun without proper protection, especially between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
