Santo Domingo. – The Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (Indotel) reached a favorability level of 84% in the media coverage of the current administration headed by its president Guido Gómez Mazara. The document highlights that Gómez Mazara’s management registers a specific favorability of 84.2%, driven by strategic actions in terms of technological modernization, defense of users, addressing digital misinformation, and expanding training opportunities for the population. This performance maintains the upward trend already evidenced the previous year when the institution also obtained an outstanding score in the analysis of national media. The study monitored 728 pieces of information published and disseminated in the written press, news programs, and panel programs between January 1 and November 11, 2025, and places the overall institutional favorability at 72.4%. The traditional press was the segment with the best performance, with 76% positive publications about the work of the regulatory body.

According to the report, the favorable coverage is related to high-impact social projects, including the Talento Digital platform, which in just three months and eleven days achieved more than 62,000 registered users, doubling the initial goal and consolidating itself as a national tool to democratize technological training. It also highlights the awarding of 1,444 scholarships to teachers to boost their skills in digital careers, as well as the cybersecurity certification programs carried out together with other state institutions and the financial sector. Another of the positively valued axes is the work of user protection. During 2024, Indotel managed 485 claims through the User Protection Directorate, with the purpose of conciliating conflicts with providers and ensuring that the citizen receives exactly the service they pay for. This close regulatory approach strengthens the perception of an institution that listens, accompanies, and acts. The report also acknowledges the responsibility with which Indotel has addressed the phenomenon of digital disinformation, by presenting verifiable data on the impact of false content on public life and the reputation of citizens and institutions. Although some voices have questioned the regulator’s participation in this conversation, DIECOM’s analysis highlights that the institution has placed the issue on the national agenda with an evidence-based approach.

This data is extracted from the most recent report by the Directorate of Government Strategy and Communication (DIECOM), which underlines that these results reflect the climate of confidence generated by the current management and constitute an incentive to continue the agenda of digital inclusion, fair regulations, and strengthening of the country’s technological ecosystem.

This rating consolidates Indotel as one of the most highly valued public institutions and reaffirms citizens’ trust in the conduct of the country’s telecommunications policy.
