Israel launches a new wave of bombings in Beirut

Jerusalem.- The Israeli Army began a new wave of bombings in Dahieh, the southern peripheral neighborhoods of Beirut, the Lebanese capital, early this Sunday morning, as announced in a statement. “The Israel Defense Forces are now attacking Hezbollah’s infrastructure in the Dahieh area of Beirut,” the military note states, without adding details. The attacks occur just hours after the evacuation order published by the Israeli Army’s Arabic-language spokesman, Avichay Adraee. «Urgent warning to residents of the southern suburbs of Beirut, especially those who have not yet evacuated the area. We reiterate: Save your lives and evacuate your homes immediately,» the Army warned, mobilizing the forced displacement of residents of Dahieh, known stronghold of the Shiite group Hezbollah. The displacement order focuses on four densely populated neighborhoods in the heart of the suburbs: the Palestinian refugee camp of Bourj el Barajne and Hadaz, further south; and Haret Hreik and Chiyah, above them.

Israel says it has attacked fuel depots in Tehran

The Israeli Army said it had attacked several fuel depots in Tehran overnight which, according to its version, were used by the Iranian armed forces. In a statement, it indicates that the Israeli Air Force, guided by the country’s intelligence services, attacked those depots, which the Iranian Army allegedly used to “operate the military infrastructure.” “This significant attack constitutes a further step in deepening the damage to the military infrastructure of the Iranian terrorist regime,” the note adds. The new attack comes amid the growing bombing campaign against Lebanon – already displacing at least 100,000 people – and after Israel occupied new military positions in the south of this neighboring country (“less than ten” in total, according to the armed forces). The Shiite group joined the regional war escalation last Monday, after attacking Israel in retaliation for the death of the Iranian supreme leader, Ali Jamenei. Since then, there have been more than 250 deaths in Lebanon and the injured exceed 800, according to local figures.
